shite... the secret is out!
At this point you really could DVR each episode, watch the "previously on AMC's The Walking Dead" part, the opening 2 minutes or so, ffwd to the last 2 minutes, and repeat. The middle has become one big steaming pile of feelings and emotions. And the zombies just fall apart now... they aren't really even a threat anymore.

This doesn't bother me so much, as it is the natural progression of things. If there's never a "cure" it just becomes part of the death ritual to stab someone in the head. You'll have random instances where someone dies alone or unexpectedly and they become a threat, but overall the zombies less important. The new threat is what we've seen from the Governor and Negan. Much like humanity was before "civilization," it's just a bunch of separate tribes that are fighting for resources and safety.
