Cato Institute POV is perfect summation of Trumps lack of knowledge re: fisa .

With regards to this "scandal"
And this:
Why am I not surprised. You even got Sen. Graham defending Obama. Lol.

This is a somewhat stunning, in so far as the president of the United States doesn’t need to get his information about classified activity from Breitbart,” says Cato Institute fellow Julian Sanchez.
And this:
quote:
“If he has evidence that he was wiretapped without a proper FISA order being sought, that would be a huge scandal, and he should produce whatever evidence he’s got,” says Sanchez. “It’s a pretty serious claim, and it’s striking he would make it without anything solid to back it up.”
quote:
While the order would have been requested by some part of the executive branch, Obama can’t order anything. Nor can Trump,” says former NSA lawyer April Doss, who stresses that her comments are based only on public information. “The order has to come from the court, and the court operates independently.”
FISA court judges serve seven-year appointments, so the court’s composition doesn’t ebb and flow with the political tides. What’s more, specific laws adopted in the wake of Watergate prevent the very activity Trump accuses Obama of.
“You can’t tap the phones of a political candidate for political purposes,” says Doss

Courts don't order wire taps. They only approve them. The above is just spin. If the executive branch tapped trumps phone, that's on obama. If they didn't have evidence that a tap was warranted, this is serious.

Why do leftists act like Lindsayt graham coming out against trump is huge news, and a sign that "republicans" are rally against the president.
Lindsay Graham has consistently been one of the most left-leaning GOP senators in the last 50 years, and among REPUBLICAN voters, he has an approval ratiing in the 30s.

Legally that may be correct but politically you still have Obama's minions going after a wiretap of Trump in June and then going for it again in October. Then passing EO's that would make sure that any information found would be leaked.
Oh, and that article also assumes that the FISA court is beyond reproach and that the people going for the warrant did not have any political motivations but really believed Trump was basically the Manchurian candidate.

Im waiting for "journalist" to actually do their job to refute everything from that timeline that Breitbart posted
And so far not a single fricking outlet is putting together a comprehensive rebuttal to refute any of it. Besides a "Oh how dare the President reference a Breitbart article"

Were they caught colluding with a major party candidate?

No, but you can orchestrate a phony "national security" concern with a candidate, take it to the court and get it rubber stamped.
We know already they spied on Flynn illegally. None of the news stories about Flynn mentioned anything about a warrant or FISA approval. They flat-out broke the law.

What's really pathetic is the POTUS is getting his "info" from Breitbart and a radio host rather than the actual agencies that have it. Anyone that thinks that's ok or awesome is beyond lost.

I'm very worried that our president is suggesting the former president has done something illegal," Graham said at a town hall in Clemson, S.C.
"I'd be very worried if in fact the Obama administration was able to obtain a warrant lawfully about Trump campaign activity with foreign governments. It's my job as United States senator to get to the bottom of this."

Do you mean you have a problem with the President of the United States "hearing about this from the same news reports many of you did?"
