For an actual refurb, I'd only buy if it was manufacturer refurbished.
I have no problem buying open box items from a respectable source like Best Buy or amazon.
In regards to electronics, I prefer open box or refurbished.

I bought an open box TV from Best Buy. Still works fine today.
