How do I integrate these two?

Seems like it would cause issues with things like doorlocks. Are you using alarm dot com ?
Posted on 3/2/17 at 12:50 pm to Hu_Flung_Pu
I want to set a routine in smart things when I set the alarm. Like set alarm stay and trigger good night routine.

What are you trying to do with smartthings you can't do with 2gig ? You can trigger events and create scenes with the 2gig panel.

It can't control my harmony stuff

I'd like to hear if it works for you. I have never messed with smartthings but familiar with 2gig. I would think the secure stuff would give you problems with two controllers. Plus I don't think alarm dot com will play nice with ST.

Well I think I can figure it out once ST gets ifttt up. Set an email "this" that reads alarm stay from moni and a "that" that triggers the routine

Seems it would be clunky and delayed especially if you don't have a BRDG1. What A/V devices do you want to trigger when you set the alarm?
I'm assuming you have a GC2 panel

Yeah, I have a gc2. I want to turn off all av devices, turn off all lights in living/kitchen area and set living room lamp to 10%.

Sucks when you start making things smart but you are missing interoperability. I'm interested how it works out so update this thread.
Worst case put your security, lights, thermostat on the 2gig and put all your entertainment on the ST. Good luck.

Got it to work. I did a this of reading a SMS for panel was armed stay then a that of shut down (virtual switch)
The that is instant. It is only as long as it takes for the panel to arm and my text to show.

Nice! I bet if you got a brdg1 and eliminated the cell tower for this action it would be a bit faster. Still not instant but not as long.
What happens when you are watching TV and want to arm your system ?

I never arm when in home unless asleep. There is a new app called stringify that can do multiple if that's with conditions that I could run though.
What's this brdg1?

IP communicator that will give you dual path communication back to ADC. It speeds up response times.
I'm assuming you have a 3G radio. They just came out with an LTE version but I haven't got much feedback yet on if it speeds up the process. Most guys still use the 3G which will bite them in the arse sooner than later.

Bumping this thread instead of starting new one, but I am installing a 2GIG G3 today. Monitoring through Alarm.com and then plan to install Lutron lights and switches and other Z wave devices over time.
Will also be installing security cameras and potentially a mesh network in near future(1-2 months). Multi family home and I provide internet to tenants who are in basement apartments. Building is about 4200sqft.
Just curious if anyone has any tips about 2GIG and Zwave tech?
Thanks

The GC3 works just like any other Zwave controller. It's just happens to be built into a security panel. The alarm dot com backend is great and will talk to Lutron in the cloud.
