Let's make the move. He becomes a free agent March 9 because patriots didn't use the franchise tag on him.

He's gonna get paid and not by us. Then again, look at all the hate Mark Ingram gets, half the fanbase wouldn't even want him here.

If they are serious about a linebacker, there he is.

Plain and simple

if you're the Browns & you've got $100M in cap space, don't you sort of have to go after Hightower? They have to find a way to spend that cap space on somebody

uhhh one of these guys is a pro bowler and top 5 in the NFL at his position. No one hates Ingram because he's from Bama. Well some do but not me .

Why do you hate Ingram?

Most do. Either that, or they blame him for the front office failures

He can put his hand in the dirt and get after the QB as well

Who said I hated him? I loved him this year because his production. He should have gotten more touches.

We don't need to replace him with a 32 year old RB.

Now that the big time pass rushers are pretty much out, I think this wouldn't be a bad move.

Go after a LB, Hightower or Brown, and a CB, Bouye or Gilmore.

According to the pats boards he has made numerous comments about hating the cold weather. He's from Tennessee and played college ball in Alabama. I'll be shocked if he doesn't end up down south somewhere. Miami fans think they're going to get him. He'll probably command 12-15 a year in this market, but don't see him staying up north just because someone up there is going to pay him a little bit more money, particularly for someone like the browns. This dude has been a winner everywhere he's gone

Miami does seem like a likely destination. They're going to be one of the most active teams in FA, at least according to insiders. They think they're close.

I would be leery of getting any Patriots player. Time and time again we see players leave New England and not pan out. With that being said, I still want Hightower

*Thread Hijack*

Before someone makes a dumb a** Brandon Williams thread, NO we should not.

*Hijack Over*

Hightower is a stud, but no we should not spend that $ on him.

I think Belicheck will match or come close to any offer made on Hightower. Much like Devin McCourty. Hightower is one of BBs guys and vital to the defense. Someone will have to severely overpay

when he traded away Jamie Collins, I figured it was a guarantee Hightower would be a patriot next year.
