Isn't it it his job to visually chronicle the world around him as it happens and offer an unvarnished view of what has unfolded so that others may know the truth of what is happening in the world around them? Why hit the man for that? I also assume there were plenty of other more qualified rendering aid. Their heroism was likely also part of what he captured. Too easy and intellectually lazy to simply strike out at the media for doing their jobs when something bad happens. The photographer didn't drive drunk into the crowd. He just happened to be there and do his job.

His job is to be the eyes for those that are not there. He was not getting in the way or impeding people from assisting. I bet if the police didn't catch the guy at the scene he would have been the first called because of his photos of the accident.
