Just dusted off the Wii U in anticipation for BotW and picked it up.

Reviews are great, curious how the board liked it.

Do you like Mario? Do you like variety? Then you'll enjoy the game.

They need to add Charging Chuck though. SMW isn't the same without him.

Been so busy I haven't even played it yet.

Is this game similar to Little Big Planet?

In your opinion, who did it better? LBP or Mario Maker?

I loved LBP when it first came out.

I like SMM much more than LBP. One reason is because of the ease of making levels with the Wii U tablet. The other is that Mario is a much tighter platformer. I enjoyed LBP but its controls always felt unnecessarily floaty. Also, the whole 3 planes never felt quite right.

If you end up getting it, check out my levels. I put a decent amount of work into some of them and some were just me and my 6 year old son building together, so they're much simpler.

I have it at the house, gonna try and fire it up tonight.

Is the community still pretty active?

Yeah, it seems to be. Every time I log on it seems someone new has played one of my levels and I don't really even have that many out there.

However, I'm sure that will dwindle as the Switch gains popularity and Nintendo inevitably announces "Super Mario Maker Switch."
