Why this year's Gonzaga team is different

In addition to being 28-0 and likely finishing the season undefeated, they are well ahead of previous Gonzaga teams.
It's hard to gauge how good they are because they play in a weak conference but look at the compared to other high seeded Gonzaga squads.
-The 2013 team also went 16-0 in conference play but won five of those games by less than 10 points.
-The 2015 team that went to the Elite Eight didn't have many conference blowouts either, and lost game to BYU.
This year Gonzaga is shredding teams. They beat ranked Florida, Arizona, Iowa State, St. Mary's (twice by double digits). Nonranked games against Power 5 foes garnered wins against Tennessee and Washington (by 27 points).
Meanwhile, they're winning conference games by an average of 26 points a game. I don't care who you are- it's hard to be that focused and blow out that many opponents by those margins, every game. Unless you're really, really good. On that note, they're at halftime now and winning 44-16. How do you even give a shite about playing hard defense at that point? I don't think they're going to win it all but they are going to prove some haters wrong this postseason.
Bonus discussion question: if they drop a game, even the WCC Championship game, do they keep a 1 seed?

They would keep the one seed.

The fourth 1 seed is an interesting question.
North Carolina looking more and more like they might grab it. But you've also got two 3-loss teams in the Pac 12 that have an argument too. If Arizona wins out and wins the Pac 12 tournament in Vegas, they might get it.

I feel like every year we hear "this years gonzaga team is different", yet they always flame out relatively early in the tournament
