Considering the Raptors are down toDeMarre Carroll and Norman Powellon the wings, this is no surprise. They’ve been connected to Danilo Gallinari and PJ Tucker recently but GM Masai Ujiri usually operates in complete secrecy, so he could go out and swing a deal that nobody saw coming. Of course, the Raptors need shooting and wing depth thanks to the departure of Terrence Ross, who was shipped to Orlando in exchange for the team’s long-coveted power forward.

The Raptors are reportedly hesitant to trade any of their young players but can dangle an affordably priced Cory Joseph, Jared Sullinger‘s expiring contract and a number of picks in order to swing a deal. We’ll keep you updated as Ujiri looks to put the finishing touches on his roster

Report: Wizards looking for another defender

The Wizards are looking for a quality defender in advance of Thursday’s trade deadline.

Washington seemed to be after offense at the deadline, having been connected to Lou Williams andShabazz Muhammad in the past 48 hours. While scoring from the second unit remains a priority, they’d be wise to add some defensive depth to a woefully thin roster, and could be willing to dip into the rental market to accomplish both if need be. There aren’t a ton of players left who fit both needs for the Wiz, but we’ll see what they can cook up between now and 3:00 PM tomorrow.
