I remember when I too believed that LEO would never lie, that no one was ever falsely accused of a crime, and that there was no ulterior motives for the criminal justice system to exist.

We're forgetting something here. A very key piece of information.
If she listened to the cop the first time, she wouldn't have a battery charge.
Further, if she wasn't breaking the law to begin with or engaging in an activity that could be construed as such, she wouldn't have been pulled. End of story. She put herself in this position
