Every year, every fricking year, it seems like we're competing for a regional or super regional against a team with a slightly better win/loss record than us. And why do those teams have better records? Because they try to win every game. The selection committee doesn't peruse through a teams entire season; they look at things like recent records, the "big games" and the win/loss record. And it always feels like LSU's record is a few games behind its ability... because of games like last night.

Is this why we've been a national seed 4 straight years?

The same thing will happen once sec play starts. We'll drop a few games here and there - that should've been won - and half the Rant will say "this happens to every team," "it's baseball and these things happen," "it is only one game, y'all need to calm down," but at the end of the season we'll be only one or two games behind the team that wins the conference; proving that those games/losses do indeed count and losing them was a legitimate bitch.

Is this why we have 2 SEC Titles in the last 5 years, more than any other school?

At least if you're going to complain, know your facts first

CPM only been a coach for 4 years??? I was talking in terms of his entire tenure at LSU.

Could've/should've been more. My point was that all too frequently we're only one or two games back... showing those "little" games here and there make a difference. And I'm not just talking about the last five years (see above).

I know my facts. I've watched this team through thick and thin with season tickets since the 80's and made way more games than I've missed; been there on those cold Tuesday nights when it felt like there were fewer people in the stands than at the Outback. I can see that CPM has issues. I can see that time and again we've needed at damned hard run at the end of the season to make up for those "it's only one game" losses.

Furthermore; I'm not running around yelling "the sky is falling" because of last night's one loss. I'm only stating that there are legitimate complaints as to both why these such games matter and as to CPM's handling of certain situations.
