Yea that's what people said when CC signed Gordon and Anderson and here we are 70% through the season and CC is an above average defense. What the simpletons who thought CC defense would be bad don't understand is that effort and scheme/team defense outweighs individual defensive talent.

Basketball Reference has them as the 15th or 16th best defense in the league, based on defensive rating and adjusted defensive rating. They're just average.
