It is a damn shame Coyote closed however, as it was hands down the best restaurant Baton Rouge had to offer.

I think "best restaurant in BR" is a bit strong, but in a town where it seems like every other new restaurant is a Mexican joint, at least Coyote Blues differentiated itself with some of it's menu options.

Maybe I'm wrong, but you would think that particular location would do well. It's near several hotels (just up the road off of College) and a nice part of town (Southdowns). However, this marks two restaurants that haven't made it there (Lone Star and Coyote Blues). Admittedly, I've never eaten at a Saltgrass, but is there any reason to think it will make it there when a similar style restaurant, Lone Star, couldn't?

I was somewhat excite after the first time I went there but I went there a few years ago and it was straight crap.

El teimpo needs to expand to Baton Rouge. There isn't a single good restaurant with a good tortilla in Baton Rouge (outside a few hole in the walls)

I think it is a terrible location myself. It is a very busy street and you can't make a left hand turn into the parking lot.

Didn't Lone Star shut down because of a fire? Like most of the building burned down? Although, I always heard the food there was crap.

I think Saltgrass may outperform Lone Star just by being a up and coming chain instead of a somewhat outdated chain. That may be able to pull in some of the random traffic along I-10 throughout the week.

There's a decent chunk of low/mid range weekday steak demand that comes from truck drivers though, and those drivers will still end up at Texas Roadhouse - there's just no way to deal with an 18-wheeler in that parking lot or anywhere close.
