Can I ask y'all a serious question in here regarding being a big brother type mentor w/o having to start a useless thread?
Have any of y'all just happened to meet a kid (18 yo HS senior) that y'all took a liking to and wanted to become a mentor, without it being in some BBBS Non-profit program? I'm curious if it could be looked at weird by the parent of the kid and have any sort of negative push back? I mean granted he kid is from what appears to be a completely broken home, doesn't know his mom and dad is a tPos
Thanks in advance

Kinda weird. I'd look at that situation and think "pederast".

How involved is his father in his life? If he is, I could see that being an issue. If his mother is more involved in his life than his dad, I don't think it would be a big deal. There is nothing weird about being a mentor, but just make sure all parties involved understand what is going on...
And don't let the parents find out you are a drunk who, at any time, can get completely wasted and start fighting people.
