How long should this hurt?
I've never heard about injuries after surgery on organs in a chest cavity but I've never really put much thought in that areas hurting for X amount of time after the scars heal

I'm of the thought that healed injuries can hurt off and on forever.
Sorry you are hurting, darth

I've heard six months but I've also heard from my barber who had open heart surgery like 15 years ago his still hurts from time to time.
The biggest thing to me is quick stabbing pain in my ribs and sternum. That and when I stand up striaght or sit up straight the wires they put in to hold my ribcage together feel like they're "pulling", almost like laces that are too tight or something. That's pretty common and why you see a lot of people who just had this type of procedure have a slight stoop for a while. But it also hurts and gets sore if you stay stooped forward too long.
