Bumping this thread because I just watched this over the weekend while recovering from minor surgery. A few thoughts.
1. Reese Witherspoon - WOW! I've never been a big fan of hers, but she blew me away with this performance. She owned every scene she was in, even the ones with Nicole Kidman who was also great in this.
2. Thought it was a little predictable at times. Didn't read the book, but caught on midway through that Perry was the one that was going to be murdered. Maybe it was a lucky guess. Didn't anticipate him being Jane's rapist though, and didn't anticipate Bonnie being the one to kill him.
3. What was the point of the Madeleine affair to the storyline? I guess just to make them all more unlikable, but that part felt forced. I see earlier in the thread that it wasn't part of the book.
4. Was there a likable male character in the show? I guess Tom(I think? The coffee shop guy) was the only one. Gordon was awful, obviously Perry was, Ed was such a wimp, etc. They all sucked, which made the show more enjoyable, IMO. I guess the women were pretty bad as well, but I liked Jane, and even Madeleine to an extent.
