Years and years of him refusing to get treatment for debilitating depression. Or a job. I became his caregiver, not his wife. I tried incredibly hard to help him, but after several years of him canceling doctor appointments, drinking too much, & staying in bed all day, he was going to drown me with him. Leaving was the hardest thing I've ever done, since I felt codependently responsible for him. I think he's doing better now. It forced him to do things for himself.

No kids.

Sounds like you walked out when the going got tough.

What happened to in sick ess and in health? Till death do us part?

A great illustration of the rampant problem of divorce in our country...woman just wants to be happy and have an easy life so blow up the family.
