. Anyone who wouldn't trade their program's history for Alabama's is a liar or a fool.
Or didn't live in the South.
So there is that.
Bama won a lot of titles playing against nothing but white dudes in jorts.
Michigan State and Notre Dame and Oklahoma and USC played against modern athletes...black guys. Its why you can't compare histories or any legacy in CFB.
Alabama was protected playing against sub-par competition. Other schools went out and played against the best competition. I.E. black players with supreme talent.
Alabama did not...they didn't play against the best competition until the late 70's...a few years before Bryant died.
He shirked the best teams...even couldn't beat Notre Dame. Lets face it.
The SEC is awesome now. But it totally sucked when Bama built it's legacy. Bama has a 85% win over conference teams from like 1960-1980...
But they are like 23% against Northern and Western teams for the same time period. Couldn't beat Notre Dame, USC or Michigan State.
Meaning, Bama was a product of the Souths segregated football rules and culture.
