In looking at my medical chart for various doctor visits during my 30s, I see that my resting heart rate is the following (in order):
74, 44, 60, 60, 72, 64
I'm guessing that this is sort of an estimate when the nurse checks your pulse. Was the 44 just a bad estimate? I don't even see that on the chart.
