its ok to call out the NYT for posting that screen shot though, out of all they could have used

its cheap clickbait meant to draw controversy

it obviously worked

Is it really? Read the tweet. It specifically places the context of that photo in late night shows, which are widely understood to be comedic and to use satire and hyperbole to entertain audiences. Posting that photo in that context with a Late Show logo on the image is not what I would call "meant to draw controversy"

I think the NY Times assumed that average people would be able to understand the context.

It took me 5 seconds to figure out what was going on with that image, and then I looked up the video to confirm my suspicions.
