re: What judgement do you pass on Ford Platinum owners?

I judge Platinum owners less than I judge 250/2500 owners who drive jacked up trucks that never see mud.
A Platinum owner knows he wants a nice vehicle inside and he buys it. No one thinks he is going to lay a Platinum over in a ditch or use it to pull out another stuck truck. Meanwhile, posers buy jacked up trucks and never use them for what they are intended.
I would love to have the retractable running boards. I have fixed ones on my Lariat and they are the worst to collect mud and a pain to get clean.

So you judge people who buy a 250 and go for a lifted look and don't necessarily "use" it but you don't judge a platinum buyer who purchases it for curb appeal and aesthetics as well but its ok cause "they just like nice stuff". that's dumb.

I drive a tricked out King Ranch I like to keep pristine, own a tractor I don't like to drive, wear a cowboy hat for looks, carry guns on my belt to be alpha, wear ariat black label ostrich boots for prestige, and have my wife do all the cooking and cleaning because I'm lazy.
I'm a poser through and through and proud of it.

I've got a 2011 with the 6.2 and it does plenty of work on the ranch.
Like others have said, I want to be comfortable and don't really care about scratches and dents. The 6.2 does everything that I need and i can't imagine living without the retractable running boards.
