The real question is why did he give up on this whole program by keeping the worst ever ball coach LSU has had by evidence of last year's fiasco. No one with half a brain could believe this was going to be anything other than a dismal year. He intentionally threw away this season and allowed the program to virtually collapse this year. It will make it very tough to attract a decent proven coach. It really baffles me that he allowed this to happen.

I know this is
territory, but if the rumors of Dale and Collis meddling are 100% accurate, maybe he saw this as a means of ridding the program of a cancer that's much bigger than just one or even two seasons. Not saying that's the case, just playing Devil's advocate and for the sake of argument giving him benefit of the doubt.
