Protester =/= pedestrian. Pedestrians are moving in an effort to get somewhere. Protesters are standing in one place to try and prevent someone from getting somewhere. Protesters should learn that the road is where cars drive and if you want to stand there you'll probably get hit.

If I'm in my truck with my kids and I get surrounded by protestors screaming, the have about 5 seconds to GTF out of the way. I'll give them a courtesy engine rev at most.
