2016 Flood - What is actually being done?

Other than arguing about what needs to be done, what is happening? Comite River diversion? Darlington Dam? Does anyone know what the plan forward is? Timeframe?
I'm supposed to move back into my house Feb 28....want to be able to sleep when it starts raining.

Slated for completion in 2060.

Nothing that's going to be done will even start by Feb 28 2018

Probably nothing anytime soon. They're quicker to put restrictions and regulations on how to rebuild your house than to actually do anything with river control.

Same thing that was done when the residents that flooded in 1983 won their class-action lawsuit against the state. Absolutely nothing.

Is it just me or does Manchac back up with even a decent sized rain now?

My house flooded too...and I'm back in....and I sleep fine at night.
At some point you have to recognize this event for what it was which is an extremely rare event.
Comite diversion is a reasonable discussion but it's a 30+ year old discussion.

what are you bitching about? Its a 1/1000 year flood. Like its gonna happen again. Sheeze.
Don't you know there are more important things to get done, like addressing the racist cops and judges in this town.

That flood screwed with a lot of people mentally. I know about 15 people personally, most are 65+ years old, who have died or been put in a nursing home because the flood forced them from their routine. For old people, their routine is pretty much the only thing that keeps them sane and alive. Hope you get your mind right, baw.
