probably just bad writing
someone's gonna turn but it doesn't make sense that it's Jesus
my money is on Morgan trying to negotiate with negan and inadvertently putting rick and co in a bad spot
but it sure seems like Jesus had no good reason to wait to reveal the kingdom to rick
surely he should have known more about the saviors than he said he did
