he did not steal anything, he needs to return what was borrowed in a reasonable period of time but this does not constitute theft.

You know what? For the most part I would agree with you,except that he hid the weapons, and pretended to be helpless. Had the Swat team come save him.
I got the surprise of my life.
Lucky I am here to type. Oh, He also had a full grown pitbull he moved into my house,but somehow,it wasn't there when the police showed up. Get it?
