I owned two homes in Orleans parish
one in Algiers and one in lakeview
I don't remember what the property taxes were but it's not germane

the fact of the matter is with the exemption LA property owners pay less than comparable states in property taxes which cannot be avoided except thru BS assessments. Property owners are invested in the community and avail themselves of the various services provided by the municipality and state as a result. every other state manages to balance property taxes with a lower sales tax and in some instances no income tax

you don't see the issue?

Yeah the issue is they spend too much money. Orleans is the worse. Property tax of 9k a year is plenty high enough to cover the swimming pool holes in my street and the 75 minute response time for the police.
