Similar to what I have to do but just looking to simplify and only use 1 remote. I just think it's currently impossible.

So I tried plugging the Fire TV Stick directly into an HDMI port on the TV with power direct to the wall...no luck. I tried the same in the bedroom on a different TV and had the same result. Looks like my Fire TV stick is now useless.
