Clemson put Etienne on the phone with Trey Quinn and he "hammered" LSU. Said it was the worst decision he ever made and that he should have gone to Clemson instead.
So LSU is the reason the kid couldn't catch???

I have no problem with him not going to LSU, but I agree...that was very immature of him. That being said, he will hopefully grow up and I wish him the best.

I know job offers will be pouring in for him in S.C after he blows out his knee. No worries there.

Yeah. TE can kiss my arse for what he said and all, but this is pretty extreme man.

There are a lot of hypocrites in here. You hate recruits that leave the state and think they lack character, but you love players that do the same thing and commit to LSU from other states.

I hate that we are losing in-state players, but for many of us, it's the fact that they are going out of their way to take shots at LSU that's irritating. If a kid handles it with class, then wish him well and move along.
I do hope we see more LA kids not just show respect to LSU, but stay home, in the future. But with the way things are right now, it may take time and a few wins over Bama to "build a wall" strong enough to beat Saban back.

Would have wished him luck before the Real Death Valley thing. Now he just looks dumb and is tiger bait. Hope he is smart enough to get a degree and likes living in Carolina.

I agree, but the shots fired at these recruits from our fans are far worse.

My God, you people are ridiculous. It's just a game! Grow up and get your priorities straight.

Here's the thing, Travis knows he is a skilled athlete (says 34 offers nationwide). However, LSU clearly had no genuine interest in his skill at RB (some will say coaching changes or whatever).
At the time that CEH committed back I think last February, TE was still an unknown quantity. He hadn’t played his senior season yet. Not to mention, that after Miles and Cameron were canned, there was no one left to make calls on who to make offers too. Coach O is a defensive coach, not an offensive coach, and at the time, he was just an interim head coach who didn't have the power to make decisions on who would be recruited and offered.
Anyway, that doesn’t matter because every school in the land creates a recruiting board and they prioritize what order the recruits they are going to make offers to are. Indeed, most recruits that are offered were not the first recruit offered on the list. In fact, depending on the school many of them that finally accept the offer are the fifth or sixth recruit offered. So therefore, there is still no legitimate reason whatsoever to be petty and pissed about. Not to mention, I bet when he gets home sick, he’s going to regret being such an idiot.
In addition, Cam Akers had been offered since long before Miles and Cameron had ever been fired, and initially Akers was very interested in LSU until Miles and Cameron were fired. Afterwards, not so much, because it was unclear who was going to be our next new head coach, and by the time, Canada finally was hired, it was already too late to make up much ground. Then subsequently Canada offered TE to come play for LSU.
Moreover, it’s not so clear that TE is really as elite as he thinks he is. Look at his highlight film, and the quality of the football teams Jennings High School were playing against, they were all pathetic jokes. Moreover, many of the people that watched him play live thought he would end up at a place like McNeese. They didn’t think he was good enough to play for LSU.
Anyway, Clemson had a higher rated four-star running back that had already committed, but it wasn’t until after that other running back de-committed from Clemson, that Clemson came in at the last minute and made TE an offer even a while after the LSU offer was made. If that other higher rated running back had never de-committed, guess what, TE never would have ever received an offer from Clemson.
Thus, TE is an immature spoiled brat who will before it’s all over with regret his decision, and I’m glad we found out what kind of a spoiled lame individual that idiot is before we accepted that prima donna on the team. He probably would have ended up being the next Valentine had he committed to LSU. Therefore, I say, good riddance.

The push could have been harder (IMO).
Excuse me, but what makes you think you are a better evaluator of talent than people that have been trained to evaluate talent and that have been doing it already for years? Go fly a kite you loser. I mean how do you figure LSU was going to offer TE until after his football season was over with and before a new head coach was even hired? Who do you figure was going to do it? Tell us. What is he, a low-information retard like you or something? Give me a freaking break you simpleton. You must be a Jennings homer, yeah none of you guys from Jennings are known for being intelligent.
That’s all I’m reading because I see what direction this lame arse idiotic post is heading. Get out of here you loser. No one has time to listen to your brain damage. Damn...how stupid can you losers be?

Couple of factors:
a) LA is a small state in which LSU is the uncontested flagship university. That's not the same as say in TX or FL and to a lesser extent GA; all of which we regularly recruit.
b) We have two high profile recruits from TN this year (Stevens, an EE, and Phillips). TN is more akin to LA with respect to recruiting than others so I'm sure UTenn would have like to have gotten both. But I don't think either trolled their in-state schools in leaving TN.

I'm not just talking about Travis. There have been quite a few recruits that have been ridiculed on here for not going to LSU and they never trolled LSU.

So what kind of class do we have if we say we are building a wall around the state and we don't offer him (TE) until and out of state guy shuts us down (Akers). People on here are crazy. So the hell what he took a shot why does that make him low class he is a damn 18 kid.
