Larry Nance Jr declined too. Great job NBA. This reminds me of the year the Jazz player who played 10 minutes all season got an invite.

Jones 1.5 PPG
GR3 6.0 PPG
Just cancel the dunk contest already

They should have a tetherball tournament instead.

frickin Jaylen Brown turned it down.
These guys all probably know they have no shot of making it to the final round. No way the NBA let's it be anyone but Lavine and Gordon.

Watch Derrick Jones' high school slam dunk contest performance and get back with me.

Bad way to follow up one of the best contests ever.

I hope we see some of the dunks from Dunk Kings.

Derrick Jones may be a nobody but he can dunk like crazy, wouldn't be surprised if he went far

Are you trying to say that the Dunk Contest is rigged?

LaVine bowed out too

Remember when James White did it a few years back?

Every year they tout these nobodies saying "check their dunk videos haters". Not one of those players have lived up to the talk. I'm sure not even playing with their team makes all of the attention nerve wracking. It's one thing to dunk in front of 5 people. It's something else dunking in front go 18k.

I watch League Pass darn near every night and this is the first I've heard of Derrick Jones

That sucks. Don't hate Jones then because he is that type of athlete.
James White was past his prime when he got in.

Gerald Green? Lavine was sort of a nobody when he first got in.
But I hear you, I remember being excited for Shannon Brown and it looked like he could barely get off the floor. A lot of these guys party hard that weekend too.

Lavine is averaging close to 20 a game. He had potential to be an All-Star caliber player down the road when he entered the contest. The same can't be said for Derrick Jones or Jeremy Evans.

Well Derrick Jones is going to be unbelievable so I'm all for it.
