How is it this happened in September of Last year and I'm just now hearing about it. One of the biggest medical breakthroughs of the century but the news is too busy covering race-baiting bullshite instead of actual news.

Except it's really not a breakthrough. The only reason to report this is to hype the study and generate more funding. Recovery of 1-2 levels after spinal injury is not uncommon. It's difficult to determine the extent of injury initially, and can take several months before any significant functional improvement occurs. It's very likely his outcome would be the same with or without the stem cells. When they can take someone paralyzed for years and demonstrate improvement, then that will be a breakthrough.
