I have walked in with a cashiers check and tell them what I want this is what I have to spend. they either take it or leave it. I also have told them don't bother calling until you get this exact vehichle for this price.
I have never been had or wasted a day at a dealer

It's all about doing your research. Every car salesmen is just a regular guy, many have kids. If you can show up with pictures of those kids, you're way ahead of the game.

Did that work? Unless I am absolutely sure I am purchasing from that specific dealership I don't give them my number, but I made the mistake of giving a saleswoman my email address on some BS form she asked me to fill out. She told me "at least put down your email and when I get more information I will let you know". For at least a month, that bitch would send me an email (not including weekends). The email was sent at the same time every morning.. 7:35AM.
The first email she sent she told me that while they currently do not have what I was looking for she would be more than happy to assist me with any other type of vehicle (I went there looking for information on Toyota's ramp van and it should have been obvious to her that I would have no interest in any other type of vehicle).
I replied to the first email.. Telling her I appreciated her time, but I had no interest in purchasing anything else..
The next day, she replies. She asked if I knew anyone who was interested in purchasing a Toyota vehicle and if so to please recommend them to her. I didn't reply back, but for about a month straight (not on weekends) that bitch sent me an email. I stopped reading them, but it was as if she was trying to pressure me to get people to go see her. I wanted to see at what point would she give up. Like I mentioned, it went on for about a month.. The emails eventually stopped, but then for awhile, every few weeks she would send one then finally stopped. But those frickers are relentless.
