you could shoot a would be robber, kill him and get your life ruined by the black pastors and media for being a racist involved in an 'unjustified' shooting. You would be the new poster boy for the next BLM rally and have to move you and your entire family to a new city if you're lucky and the DA doesn't crumble under the political pressure to press charges and a jury of your peers doesn't convict you of murder1.

Yes and No. Dominos has a no-guns policy on it's drivers. But in last 2 years at least 2 drivers have defended themselves with their own weapons from carjackings/robberies . The public came to their defense and Domino's backed off temporarily at least and didn't fire the drivers. One was Florida one was New Mexico.
