7-3 in a 10 game stretch equates to 11.2 wins a year with the same rate of winning in a 16 game schedule. I think the division argument is kind of weak. The Pats average 12.2 wins a year as is over the past 16 years, so playing in their division has basically accounted for one more win every year than their wins per year would be out of division. Seems it hasn't benefited them as much as you're making it out to be.

Great point if the difference between 11 wins and 12 wins wasn't a first round bye.
