The white things you see in duck breasts are not worms. They are cysts left over from a microscopic parasite. They cause absolutley no harm to humans. So people that throw these ducks away are just wasting. And if you are disposing of the birds you better be doing it correctly so that you do not continue the cycle of these parasites.

They may not cause harm but they do leave a chalky texture in the meat. Are you really surprised that a lot of people won't stomach eating a piece of meat full of chalky cysts?
