We'd be in a position so where young, superstar coaches coming up through the ranks would actually want to come here.
Auburn hires a big time coach, Alabama hires a NBA coach, MSU hires a 3 time FF coach, we hire MSU's old news. At least OM will always stick with Kennedy's NITs.

People have this idea that we can go from the gutter to greatness with a check and a snap of ou fingers. That's not reality. You want Kermit Davis? Look at Texas and USC, Shaka smart is failing Andy Enfield is failing and they were way more successful than davis. You need a guy to elevate the program to a consistant level. A coach who is a proven winner at this level with as little chance of failure as possible. Once you do that and are wining 20-24 game a year for a sustained amount of time then you level up. Look at Ben howland look at frank martin these are great coaches "great"! And Martin is just starting to get there howland will be there next year or the year after. Kermit Davis is too big a risk Drew will never come Collins will never come Miller will never come here.

Auburn hired tenns old news, state hired UCLAs old news Bama hired an unemployed coach. Everybody hires someone else's old news.

Enfield went to the tourney last year and hes 16-4 right now.

All 3 of those teams are still garbage.

Again Enfield was way more successful than davis and is 59-55 at USC. He's made 1 tourney jones has done that too he's started off good this year jones has done that too. So far he's 59-55 that's not good.

Not really. He was only two years in at FGCU, he just went a game further in his tourney run.

36-17 the last season and a half.

Brah, Enfield took over a mess at USC. I'm impressed with what he's built and building

Davis went to the second round of the tourney that's his best. He's a Brady assistant why would you want that? There's noway davis has proven he can win in the sec.

I'm not trying to shite on Enfield I like him I'm just illustrating that mid major success doesn't equal power 5 success. He's been good last year and a half johnny jones has had similar runs at LSU so let's wait before we crown Enfield.

Davis is a far greater risk than Stansbury. The latter recruits better and has a better resume in this league at a school with far less to offer than LSU. And again davis is a Brady disciple that should be a red flag for anyone. Look at the guy who made noise at a mid major after being under Brady who went to tennassee a couple years back. That didn't work out too well.

Why? You're crowning Stansbury who's never been to a Sweet 16 and Enfield did that shite at damn near a community college.

Crowning? Wait on Stansbury? He has 14 years of winning in the sec no need to wait and I'm not crowning him if you read my post I said he'd get us to a level of consistant winning which is what we need. The dream that we will hire Kermit Davis and he'll turn us into a team that can make elite 8s or sweet 16s is just that a dream. Stansbury has won multiple sec tourneyments name an LSU coach who's ever done that. I'll wait....

He freaking underachieved down the stretch in his Moo St tenure.
It will be more of some of the same frustrating shite if we ever hire Stansbury.

Who's dream is this?

Man Dennis Felton has a many SEC tournament titles as LSU. I don't care about SEC tournament titles, this ain't a one bid league.

Alleva screwed this thing up. He could've had Mike White he could've had Bryce drew he could've had Ben Howland. Now we've fallen off of the map the pool of candidates has shrunk. We need to get to a certain level of consistency. Stansbury wants the job and is exactly what we need right now. Do I want him here for 15-20 years? Not if he can't advance in March. But we'd be taking a much bigger risk hiring Davis or the like. If Larry Brown or somebody like that wants to come I'm all for it. But Kermit Davis isn't Greg Marshall.

Madking is all in for Stansbury, ain't nothing going to change his mind. And that's fine, everbody has their preferences. Certainly ain't my choice. This program needs a complete overhaul and culture change and I don't think that surly unlikable re-tread brings that.

Give me Stansbury for life then

I agree with you his last couple years he got stale that happens. But he recruits louisiana as well as anybody and win consistantly in our league. Look at what's happened to ATM now that he's gone and the biggest issue with the hire is risk. We are at a crossroads and we need a low risk hire. It doesn't matter if he makes the sweet 16 in 5-7 years here. If he show the country LSU can win 20-24 games a year and stay in the ncaa tourneyment regardless of March prosperity we can sell that to the next hire and take the next step.
