Officers responded to a report of an individual with a gun in the 1400 block of Turtle Cove just after 3 p.m. Tuesday, officials said. After police told the suspect to drop the gun, he ran inside the home and began shooting at officers, DCSO Lt. Orlando Hinojosa said. One officer was shot. A man claiming to have witnessed the encounter said he heard one initial gunshot, and then an flurry of three or four gunshots with an officer hiding behind a truck in a driveway. The officer was shot in the upper body. His condition is unknown early Tuesday evening. The officer was careflighted to Denton Regional Hospital.

Thoughts and prayers.
It's sad that this type of news has become common.

Frisco residents would die if they knew you compared Frisco to Little Elm. Little Elm has a few beautiful lake houses but overall it's Frisco's trashy little brother. Definitely not the same soccer mom types.

Bro no one wants to live in Frisco anymore unless youre muslim. Little Elm has its nice parts and bad parts like everywhere else, but overall it's a nice quiet little lake town with an awesome rec area where they put on some fun family events.

No although I have lived in both Plano and Frisco in the past.
Little Elm has its moments like the Waters Edge Cafe but it's just a notch above The Colony.

We aren't very far from Little Elm. Far enough away for property values, close enough for a quick run to their liquor store.
ETA the cop died.
