You can carry if you have a concealed carry license, but the reality is, getting in a car wreck followed by, falling out of a deer stand are your most likely was to get hurt hunting in Louisiana.

Don't have a CCP and not likely to go out and get one in the immediate future.
I'm almost always hunting alone and this year most of my hunts were with a bow. Would add a little peace of mind to have some extra protection while unpacking/packing my climber and walking to/from hunting spot, especially in the dark. This story always comes to mind because I hunt the same WMA this happened at.
