Looking for elevation change, rustic cabins, hiking, maybe fishing. Kids are young. Website is nice but not many pics. Mt Magazine or Nebo seem to be where we are leaning. Any other thoughts? Thanks

Those two are good and Petit Jean State Park LINK near Morrilton is also very popular. Queen Wilhelmina State Park LINK near Mena should also get strong consideration as it is on the scenic Talimena Scenic Drive. Here's a link to the mountain state parks. LINK
The area near Cossatot River State Park LINK over to Albert Pike Recreation Area LINK over to Shady Lake Recreation Area including the Caney Creek Wildlife Management Area and Caney Creek Wilderness Area LINK is a great area to visit with its elevation changes and numerous hiking trails. Very scenic and was popular with out-of-staters but maybe less so now because of the tragic flood of 2010. LINK But it is still a very beautiful area and is one of my favorite places in the State. What has become more popular over the years in this area are cabins for rent and depending on the length of your stay you could stay in this area and visit Queen Wilhelmina State Park as well as it is relatively close. Here's some links to cabin rental sites. LINK LINK
The Buffalo River around Buffalo Point LINK has lots to offer as well but it may be too far. It's definitely worth a visit if you can find the time.

Since you are in OKC, you could go to NWA. I really liked Devil's Den SP outside Fayetteville. Some good hikes and it has a pretty scenic entrance as you drive in.
