re: When did hating this country begin? And when did it become the 'Patriotic' thing

I'm guessing it started with the rise of communism in the 50s and then really took with Vietnam in the 70s.
Closest to the truth!

This is a major problem.

When it comes down to hoping the country fails so he won't be successful
I know that there are some who wanted him to fail, but I also know many people who dislike the man as a President but wanted him to be a successful leader.
There are people on both sides who are guilty of hoping that a president fails. I see it often on "this board" these days from our resident liberals. I've seen some of the most hateful and intolerant statements directed towards DJT on here over the past few weeks.

Marxism is entirely focused on deconstructing the host society.
Leftists are just Marxists at their core.
Most of the ones here aren't smart enough to realize that, though.

I understand your point. I am trying pretty hard to root for DJT..because if I don't I am no better than many of the people I despise. I think I'll get there.

The Union leaders made be sick over it and that's when I slowly started turning Patriotic/Conservative.
Talking about unions, I remember in the Dim primary one of the largest unions (CWA)was against TPP/NAFTA and threw their support behind Sanders because he was anti TPP/NAFTA. This was also Trump's position but HRC was for both TPP/NAFTA until her peeps said you need to come out against them if you want to be POTUS. Now you would think the CWA would have endorsed Trump for POTUS just based on trade and illegal immigration but no they wanted HRC.

The answer to your question lies in the socialist infiltration of our universities in the 50's and their ability to lead simpleminded democrats by the nose ever since. We see their efforts really take hold on Democrat losers, cowards, and layabouts of the late 60's/early 70's.
McCarthy was a lunatic. He was also 100% correct in his paranoia.

Remember when we were attacked on 9/11 the country came together and we said "never forget", well, we forgot. Sad.

It's almost time to dust the old flag off. Anybody still believe that the right side won the war.

This board and this post equates disagreeing with Trump to hating America. I disagree with everything trump stands for outside of trade and I love America.

I think they were the first ones that realized that the military industrial complex was an actual being within the federal government though.
Actual "hating" had its roots in the "Beat" generation of the 50s. Became full-blown during the VietNam era of 60s-early 70s. Went to sleep some after Nixon ended the draft and the war.
It's re-emerged in the last 8 years with a vengeance.
I think it may be going to sleep soon.

Hating the country began in the late 70s with the advent of post modernism on college campuses. Truth is not observable because we observe through the distorted lenses of racism, sexism and homophobia.
Since the US is racist, sexist and homophobic the US should be hated.
The 3rd world is immune from hate even though they are racist, sexist and homophobic. It's because 3rd world inhabitants share something with blacks, women and gays. They are all 'the other'. They are powerless victims who must be championed.

I only bring up these issues nagging me because I just watched 'Miracle'. Seems amazing the year before I was born, how much that win meant for this country. Seems it lifted up this country in a time of need. The chants of 'USA, USA, USA' meant something.
I was alive and 16 years old at the time and it was a big story but it wasn't any bigger than "kick 6"...it was a sports story...most Americans didn't even know it had happened...it was fricking hockey for crying out loud...outside the frozen tundra no one was remotely interested in watching it live....

and those that rule, live like kings.
How is that any different in any society man has ever known anywhere? The ruling class ALWAYS live like king s because, they are, for all practical purposes, KINGS...
When America was GREAT according to the Trump bunch how did the ruling class live differently than they do today??? I know none of you can answer that because not a swinging dick among you can answer the question "When was America Greater than it is today"?
Trump has some very solid ideas...seriously....but y'all are devolving into fantasy...fence building, taking a lesser roll in the defense of our allies unless they pay more, job protectionism and isolationsim, deporting millions of illegals, increasing spending and cutting taxes...all great ideas and will truly make the nation stronger....but anyone who thinks that the ruling class is not going to continue living like kings is a fricking idiot, with all due respect....

Can you point to one (1) event where conservatives trashed private property, intimidated businesses and their owners or CEO's (even their children)..made endless death threats and blocked other people from going about their daily lives or tried to encite people to violence, all based on the "purity of their cause"?
No?? the STFU and let the grown ups deal with things.
