I grew up not far from Echiladas Y Mas and went there almost weekly growing up. It's the type of place where you see the same people in there every time.

Agreed, I grew up just down the street from there, too. It was never the best, just tasty, cheap, and quick. But a few years ago it got hugely popular on Yelp and by word of mouth, and then out-of-Towners started going there, thinking they were getting the best.

Damn, I didn't know that. I went away for college in 2010, and moved to New Orleans after so when ever I'm back home its for a few days at a time now and its been a few years since I've been there. I usually just hit Maudie's, Trudy's and el rancho when I'm back to get my fix.

I went at 5:30pm on a Wednesday and it was packed. Strange.

I got a cheese enchilada and it was OK but I just dont like American cheese/Velveeta that much, and thats what it tasted like. I would like it much better if it was full of Jack cheese.
