When you solicit the media to become a one sided, agenda driven watch dog because you are salty that the country rejected your horrible candidate, just liberal things.

?? ... trump clearly mocked a disabled reporter ... or are you implying the thugs in the video weren't mocking their victim? ...

People who think their side literally can do no wrong are awful. He clearly made fun of that guy. Are you giving Trump the benefit of the doubt that he fully understands the reporter's disability? Watch that clip and if you truly believe there was no intent to mock, then I don't know what you will agree to.

Was it overblown? Yes. Do I care that he did it? No. But to flat out deny he mocked the guy is absurd. Just try to have an ounce of objectivity.

Also, Streep failed to remark about HRC and the dems paying people to wear oxygen and be disabled to plant racism.

A long time ago they swayed opinion. No longer...

The hypocrisy is clear to all with half a brain. She called on the media to stand up to Trump. What a joke.

quote:

Meryl Streep received the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, and slammed Donald Trump's "performance" in her acceptance speech.

"Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners, and if you kick us all out, you’ll have nothing to watch except for football and mixed martial arts, which are not arts," she said, tearfully and with a faint voice, upon accepting the career-spanning honor.

She echoed Hugh Laurie's comment about how the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is part of "the most vilified segments in American society right now" — Hollywood, foreigners and the press. "But who are we, and what is Hollywood anyway? It’s just a bunch of people from other places," she explained, outlining her New Jersey upbringing, plus the non-Los Angeles backgrounds of Sarah Paulson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Amy Adams, Natalie Portman, Ruth Negga, Viola Davis, Dev Patel and Ryan Reynolds. She asked sarcastically, "Where are their birth certificates?"

Streep then noted that one "performance" stood out this year: that of Donald Trump when he publicly mocked The New York Times' Serge Kovaleski, a disabled reporter. "There was nothing good about it, but it did its job," she said. "It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can't get it out my head because it wasn’t in a movie, it was in real life. That instinct to humiliate when it’s modeled by someone in a public platform, it filters down into everyone’s life because it gives permission for others to do the same."

"Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence," she continued. "When the powerful use their position to bully others we all lose."

After stressing the importance for the press to stand up to Trump — "We need the principled press to hold power to account, to call them on the carpet for every outrage ... We're going to need them going forward and they're going to need us to safeguard the truth," she stressed of journalists — Streep concluded her speech by quoting Carrie Fisher: "Take your broken heart, make it into art."

Did Trump mock the guy? Certainly. Everyone can agree to that. What Trump is saying is that he had no idea the guy was disabled and that he wasn't mocking the guy's disability.

Here's instances of Trump making fun of people using similar hand motions and voices:

LINK

I can only assume that you have already decided that Trump was indeed mocking the guy's disability, given your post. I wonder where you got that idea from? It certainly wasn't your own idea after you saw the video of Trump, because he didn't reference the guy's disability. Where did you find out that the guy was disabled? Was it CNN?

Are disabled people beyond mocking?

He did mock him, but didn't know he was disabled.

Trump didn't mock a disabled man. Just another desperate lie from the depraved, broken, no-integrity Left.

Those gestures are a general shtick for Trump. He used the exact same movements in the past in mocking anyone he thought was dumb, so it's hard to make a conclusion that it was targeted at the disabled.

Maybe the disabled reporter deserved to have his disability mocked. He was a shill of a reporter. Could not get his facts straight.

Thread title is a lie. Virtually every single person wishes for the torturers to be punished to the full extent of the law. The idea that Meryl Streep is more morally outraged at Trump's mocking than at the thugs' torture is based on nothing more than your emotional attachment to your political beliefs.

Meryl Streep inevitably believes for the thugs to suffer severe legal punishment for what they did and for Trump to not be President. To equate the two is very silly of you.
