why is a LDWF agent engaging in a traffic stop on roads?

Post from his dad on Facebook.
This is the info I have now. Tyler was hit with 5 times. 2 in the arm, 1 in the upper shoulder, 1 in the jaw, and the worst was 1 that hit in the left temple crossed to the right and went down. Luckily they said it did not go straight through the brain but traveled around the skull. They have removed part of the skull to prepare for swelling and removed the clotting. They said if you had to take a shot to the head this is it. He does have all of his motion and they said he can move everything on commands. They said that was very good. He even answered some questions but was still hazy on some things but overall is good. Just found out they caught the bitch. I will post later if anything changes but they say the first 72 hours will be critical.

quote:I hung out with some of these dudes doing guard duty during the flood. They have arrest powers nationwide I believe. There also a lot cooler than all the other leos I've had the displeasure of being around. Very professional, actually have height and weight standards and aren't douchebags on an ego trip.

LA state wildlife agents have all the arrest and law enforcement authority of a state trooper. their resources are just "dedicated", for lack of a better term, to fish and game violations.
A wildlife agent in LA can properly stop you and write a seat belt violation if he sees one.
There is some dispute/gray area (as far as this lawyer is concerned) regarding whether they have "greater" statutory authority to enter private property and their authority to search relative to wildlife violations, but I'll admit that is basically academic.
That being said, some POS shot a young wildlife agent because he didn't want to go to jail. This is the second time in what, 2 years this has happened up there?

This is true. I worked for the State Police Training Academy as a student worker in college and the troopers would tell me LDWF Agents had the most power of any law enforcement officer in the state.
