I hope to God she is charged as an adult & sees nothing but cell walls for the rest of her life

So sorry to hear this. Thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. Great to hear his condition as of now, ( i.e., movement of extremities, response to commands. ) Hope his condition continues to improve.
As far as their duties, I had an Enforcement Agent tell me they ( Enforcement Agents ) have more authority than a state trooper. They are just more cool and laid back. Glad to hear they caught the scumbag POS.

I would think this is because many of the people they deal with are hunters and known to be armed when they have interactions with them.
ETA: Continuing to pray for Tyler. Hope she is charged as an adult and to the fullest extent possible.

I think he showed great restraint considering the situation. It would have been much worse if I was in his situation. Hoping the best for this young man.

The dad of the agent that was shot posted it on Facebook.

They need probable cause like any other cop.
Actually, they don't. They can also search any vehicle without consent.

I maybe mistaken but LDWF can come into your home or vehicle without a search warrant...where as other agencies have to aquire a search warrant

Commissioned wildlife agents are authorized to visit or inspect at frequent intervals without the need of search warrants, records, cold storage plants, bait stands, warehouses, public restaurants, public and private markets, stores, and places where wild birds, game quadrupeds, fish, or other aquatic life or any parts therof may be kept and offered for sale, for the purpose of ascertaining whether any laws or regulations under the jurisdiction of the department have been violated...."
Still need probable cause, but does not need a warrant...

off topic ignorant question: why is a LDWF agent engaging in a traffic stop on roads?
Illegal hunting / gunshots heard.

I wish somebody would start a tips and arse thread I'm tired of reading about doom on the OT

prolly a nighthunter. These guys face real danger, as the people they stop are frequently armed, even though they make fewer stops than LSP. Hopefully his truck had a camera on it.

A female teen night hunting? That would shoot a LEO in the head? Odds are low on that.
