These are SELF REPORTED violations. The NCAA could give a shite less about them. It's just our department doing their job.

No shite Sherlock. Go suck off Jimmy. The whole point is that is a ridiculous rule. Why have a rule like that if there are no repercussions for breaking said rule?

What a calm rational response.

The reason many of these rules exist is to draw the line somewhere, and it provides accountability to schools. There's another post in this thread which talked about it more, but that was basically the sentiment.

While there may not be penalties assessed against a team it does keep the NCAA aware of violations and helps them keep an eye out for future problems.

Because if it's excessive you run into issues like USC did. USC ran into issues with the NCAA allllll the time because they'd bring celebrities over to campus to hang with players and coaches. The NCAA stepped in quickly and told them to cut it out or they'd be hit with lack of institutional control penalties.

But you wouldn't think this through, because you're too busy acting like a child on the internet.

The rule is there for a reason...someone exploited it in the past and the NCAA had to step in.
