Which generally isn't enough to get it done in the playoffs.
The last time a team won the NBA title and wasn't in the top 10 that season in defensive efficiency rating was the 05-06 heat who were ranked 17th that season and they beat the Mavericks who were at 12, so it was probably easier to overcome the bad defense against a similarly defensively challenged team.
That being said he is a good coach and his philosophy generates wins.
