It wouldn't surprise me if Saban dreamed all this crap up to somehow make his team the underdog and inspire them.

He can be a "tool" for my team anytime he wants to be.
It seems pretty clear LK wasn't cutting the HC/OC gigs as good as Nick expected or demanded. So, Nick cut him loose.
