So Glad We Didn't Get Kiffin

Nothing personal and I don't like the Gumps. But, if your Kiffin, you don't allow this to go down if you have a shred of influence. Saban gave the guy a chance to rehab his career. He owed the man his best effort for another week. Glad he and his drama are heading to Florida

Can't stand him it was the best Christmas present I've ever had! We made out well

And he will fail again as an HC

Did LK quit Bama, or was Saban not happy with the offense vs WA?
it's not like Sark is coming in off the street.

A very talented offensive coach but, he really creeps me out !
All his less than honorable moves, lead me to believe he simply can't stay on the straight and narrow. Also remember his duplicity in the case of Janzen Jackson....boy did he lead that kid down the wrong path !

So all of the LSU fans that wanted Kiffin and or Briles will become FAU fans?

Glad we didn't get Kiffin because he likely would have been one and done here and off to the first available HC job. I'm much happier with Canada. At least he'll probably stay for two or three years, and maybe longer. Frick Lane Kiffin. I hope he falls flat on his face at FAU.

Same thing with Dylan Moses, Landon Collins, Joe McKnight, Tim Williams, Eddie Lacy, etc...you all "want" them until you don't have them and then it's like, eh, I'm glad we didn't get so and so.
1 month ago Kiffin was high on several people's lists.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn it was Saban who told Kiffin to hit the road. Saban can be a real tool when he wants to be.

Tim Williams
I remember hearing Hanagriff on the radio reporting that Tim Williams had committed to Alabama. I had a sinking feeling that the guy was going to be a star player for them, and was perplexed as to why Coach Miles and staff apparently didn't recruit him very hard. At least that's what I remember hearing at the time.

It wouldn't surprise me if Saban dreamed all this crap up to somehow make his team the underdog and inspire them.

You won't see me saying I didn't want Dylan Moses or Landon Collins. I am sick that Moses flipped to Bama because I know he's going to make their defense all that better in the next few years, and also know he'd be a star at LSU and we could really use him.

He is very immature and a jerk to boot. He has shown his posterior the last month. Saban had enough.

Agreed. It wouldn't surprise me either. Saban is always seeking an edge, whether it be with x's and o's or a mental edge.

From a good ESPN article:
ESPN Article:
When late Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis fired Lane Kiffin four games into his second season as coach in 2008, Davis said Kiffin had "conned me and conned all of you people."
When former USC athletic director Pat Haden fired Kiffin five games into his fourth season as the Trojans' coach in 2013, Kiffin was famously left behind on a tarmac at a private airport near LAX.
And let's face it: Kiffin is about the only coach who could be fired from a job that he'd already quit.
Even more than that, Kiffin's undoing was caused by what had often doomed him in the past: his immaturity and mouth.
Kiffin told SI reporter Pete Thamel even though he was one of the sport's highest-paid assistants with an annual salary of $1.4 million, he really didn't make that much after paying taxes and alimony to his ex-wife.
"I make [about] 9 percent and I'm living in Tuscaloosa," Kiffin told SI.
Later in the SI article, Kiffin complained about Saban's 7:30 a.m. staff meetings and having to live in Tuscaloosa away from his three children.
"This will come across wrong," Kiffin told SI. "But it's like dog years. Three years is like 21."

I would take LK today. Best offensive mind I have seen since Spurrier.
Granted I haven't seen Canada offense and am looking forward to seeing him. Lois like a great hire.
But Lane Kiffin is an offensive genius and what he did at Alabama is amazing.

Tim made it clear he was leaving the state from the very beginning, remember he was really close to going to Miami.
He also had a questionable work ethic at the time. He always had an incredibly high ceiling, but wasn't putting in the work to reach it. He spent his freshman year in Saban's doghouse because of this. The light finally came on for him last year and he's turning into the player he was always capable of being. Just sucks it's at Bama, though I'm not sure he would have done as well here without leaving the negative influences behind.

He IMHO has always been a POS and probably always will be. And I know the fraternity of coaches is littered with some unsavory characters but I think this guy at the top of that class.
I too am glad circumstances worked out where he's not a Tiger.
