Oscar screener season in the torrent world

Yeah, I've been waiting for the flood, but it hasn't happened. Maybe the found out the people that were doing the leaking (pretty sure the studios put unique distortions on each screener so that they can find out who leaks them). Sucks. Just give me La La Land and Manchester and I'll be happy.

Yeah I've been hitting my favorite torrent site every day and nada.
I usually catch up on all the good movies during Christmas break. It's made me sad that nothing leaked this year. :(

I got halfway through Nocturnal Animals and gave up. Hated it.

I think it's just kind of a pure family drama, characters just happen to be black. I think that was kind of the point of the play when it was written years ago.

the main group responsible (hive-cm8) for most of the DVD screener releases caught a lot of heat last year when some big movies (the hateful 8 was one of them) got loose on torrent sites weeks before they were even in theatres.
also personal info name address etc of the person running hive-cm8 was made public around the same time. they still are a major uploader group but no more DVD screener season at christmas

Yea, I will gladly wait and pay 5 bucks for the ones I haven't seen yet in place of watching a DVD quality screener. I'm probably pickier than most, but I just can't watch a good movie in shitty DVD quality on a 60 inch tv when I know I will have access to the HD ones eventually
And yes I know HD ones will become or already available, I'm just talking about the DVD screeners that get released around this time

I can't either. I won't download any movies that aren't bluray rip and encoded in H.265 10 bit color (HEVC) with either 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. TV shows I will take in either 1080 or 720 HEVC.
