Thats a good question.
I've been doing it pretty steady for about 3 years now, and every once in a while I think I've got it figured out...
and the next day, they let me I don't.
The books mentioned are good, and interesting as how much successful trout fishermen disagree on a lot of methods. All the same, its a good starting place.

Is it more of a learning the fish in general, or does the techniques and strategies vary greatly place to place and season to season?
